COURSE
DESCRIPTION
In this class, we explore Imam al-Ghazālī’s guidance on refraining from disobedience as the foundation of spiritual growth. Drawing from Bidayat al-Hidayah, the session highlights why abandoning sin takes precedence over pursuing voluntary acts of worship, and how unchecked disobedience hardens the heart and obstructs closeness to Allah. Students will be guided to recognize subtle and overt forms of sin and develop a conscious approach to guarding their actions, limbs, and inner states.
